About this calculator
Use this working days calculator when a calendar-day count is not enough. It excludes weekends and public holidays for the selected country.
The deadline mode is useful for invoices, project plans, notice periods and internal approval workflows where the number of business days matters.
How it works
- 1
Choose the country whose public holidays should be used.
- 2
Pick a mode: count days between dates, add working days, or subtract working days.
- 3
The interval includes both boundary dates in the breakdown.
- 4
Weekends are excluded and public holidays on weekends are not compensated.
- 5
The URL updates automatically, so you can share the exact calculation.
Practical examples
- Invoice due dates: add 14 or 30 working days from the issue date.
- Project schedules: count the real working time between kickoff and delivery.
- Vacation planning: see how many business days a period contains.
- Legal or HR deadlines: use the result as a planning aid and verify binding deadlines with the relevant authority.
Frequently asked questions
How are working days counted?
The calculator treats Monday to Friday as working days and excludes public holidays returned by the selected holiday country. Regional rules and company closures are not added automatically.
What if a public holiday falls on a weekend?
It is listed as a holiday but it does not reduce the working-day count again. The calculator does not create substitute days unless the holiday dataset defines one.
Which countries are supported?
The dropdown includes the United States, United Kingdom, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Australia, backed by the date-holidays dataset.
Is the result legally binding?
No. It is a practical planning tool. For court, tax, HR or contract deadlines, always check the applicable rules and official guidance.
Are the start and end dates included?
Yes. The between-dates mode includes both dates. Add and subtract modes count working days after or before the boundary date and show the full resulting interval.
Can I add company holidays or vacation?
Not yet. The current version supports public holidays and weekends. Company-specific days are planned as a future extension.
